Hello Rob Raw and Thank you for giving us from wrestlingjunkies.de the chance to ask some questions.

No problem ,the pleasure is mine. Always nice to help out people who are doing a good job for wrestling.

What first made you want to get into pro wrestling? Were you a wrestling fan growing up? When did you say, "That is what I want to do"? And what did your family/friends say about that?

This might sound strange but I was attracted to wrestling before I even saw it. Like it was inside me ,maybe from a life before this one Winken . I started watching wrestling when I was around 10 years old. A friend of mine told me his grandfather always watched it and I just knew (from picking things up here and there) that this was my thing. And I was hooked to it from the first match. Ultimate Warrior vs Honky Tonk Man in 1988 for the IC-belt was a match I'll never forget and from that moment I was addicted and wanted to be a wrestler. My family and friends probably thought it was a temporary addiction but time proved them wrong ,I kept watching it and keeping the dream of becoming a wrestler one day. At 27 I finally decided to live my dream ,we started the FWF and things went from there. It was a surprise to some of my family and friends, but they knew my love for the business.

You are trained by Salvatore Bellomo, a former ECW Wrestler what can you say about Salvatore and your training?

Correction ,was trained by Mr.Bellomo. Even though we had some personal problems ,I'm still proud to have wrestled and trained with Mr.Bellomo.He's a big name and one of the few europeans who made it to WWF and ECW. My initial training was from FCW and DWF (Holland) and also in FWA (UK).The Bull (Roberto Lequimez) is now my trainer.
What was it like to be in the ring as a wrestler, for the first time? Was it exciting or was it hard for you to wrestle in front of a live crowd?
It was great, I was very nervous but got a huge kick out of it. Finally !!!

Together with Nick 'Nightstalker' Veraert you founded the Flemish Wrestling Force ,that´s right? And why do you that whit Nick?

That's right,he and I have been friends for a long time and he supported me in founding the FWF. However by the time the first show came around there were some troubles between us and we wrestled each other on that show (FWF Full Force 1 ,28/4/'04).

Which match would you consider your best match and which one was your personal favorite since 2003 when you startet your wrestling career?

My highlights in wrestling are 3 : 1) being in the ring with big names (former WWF-,WCW-,ECW-,TNA-stars) like Sal
Bellomo, Joe Legend, Dusty Wolfe , Honky Tonk Man, Doink The Clown
2) being booked internationally : Belgium, France, Holland, UK, Germany and offcourse
my tour in the USA
3)winning championships like the FWF Championship (twice),FWF tag championship
(with Doink) and the Star Yield Asian Jr.Heavyweight Championship

The First time i see you live was at the MWA Show in december 2007 and my first thinking was:Hey a new Warrior. Was the Ultimate Warrior an Idol for you?

Thank you for the compliment ! He sure was my idol.I always loved those He-Man-like charackters.I was amazed by his energy, body ,strenght and presence. I still think he had the best body ever in wrestling , although his mind is ****ed up nowadays.
I even wrestled as The raWior in my starting-period.A black face-painted and dressing Warrior-like wrestler copying his moves.

Which promotions do like to watch in your spare time?

I love watching the old stuff from the eighties on dvd and youtube. And I keep an eye on the global wrestlingworld through the internet-sites. Especially the circuit I wrestle in myself.

The wrestling world is dominated by WWE, what do you think about the WWE?

The WWE is still something special, altough it's not that good anymore (I loved the 80's).It's got tradition and it respects that. The only thing is (and that's not only a wwe-problem), they all look the same in wrestling these days. It's sad to see the gimmicks go away, but that's my opinion.Wrestling isn't just sports ,it's also entertainment, we should keep it that way.

And the TNA?
It's good that WWE is not alone, competition makes everybody better (remember the monday night wars).

What do you think about Wrestling in Europe?
As a promotor I know it's not easy to draw people for an independent promotion in europe, certainly not in the regions where they don't show wrestling on TV. As far as the wrestlers go ,I've been in the states and I've seen how many great wrestlers (body, skills, mic-skills ,...)they have over there. So it doesn't surprise me that so few europeans make it to WWE or TNA. But we certainly have talent over here.

Now something about the private person Rob Eeckhout. What did you when you are not in the ring?

I'm a gym-instructor ,that's my job. It also gives me the chance to work-out on a regular base.Besides that I spent time with my wife and kid(s).

Your personal and wrestling future?

In march or april we will have our second child born. And I'm also busy working on the house and garden.
As far as the wrestling goes, I want to stay in the business but maybe not too long as a wrestler, I've got a responsability towards my wife and kids and I need my body for my job as fitness-instructor. Getting injured could be my worst nightmare.

You married to Eva and has a son Ebbe .How important is your family to you?
It's everything ,it makes me function.

Is there anything left you want to say to your german fans?

I enjoy being in Germany, it's a real wrestling-audience.You fans are great as I witnessed at the DWA Fan-convention.
Respect ! ! !

Thank you Rob for this Interview and i hope i see you soon back in germany.

me 2 and keep up the good work Bernd
